The Treasure Hunt experience can highlight leadership skills, increase Team cooperation and can be easily and successfully integrated into a Corporate training programme.
It is a natural addition to a successful business trip in Italy, as it can easily be inserted into a working group’s busy daily schedule.
Treasure Hunt also offers an engaging experience while exploring Italy, offering even more incentive to your employees.

Participants just need a 10 minute briefing before the event, as the instructions are easy to understand and hard to forget. We can also provide a printed document if necessary.

We have had from 5 to more than 600 people participate in a single event; the events can be scaled to any size group.

TIP: The size of the group affects the price per person: the more participants in the group, the lower the price per person.

A Treasure Hunt can last from two to five hours. The suggested amount of time is three and a half hours.
We can easily customise the duration to fit your daily agenda.

Treasure Hunt in Italy currently offers events in the following Italian cities: Rome, Milan, Florence, Venice, Turin and Naples.
Other cities, areas and smaller towns are available on request; for example, we just completed custom Treasure Hunts in the hills of Tuscany, the Cinque Terre area and more.

All the locations are listed in the Roadbook. Each location features a different challenge that can be read about from the start.
No hidden places: we want participants to enjoy each city’s treasures, not get lost or stuck on a riddle.

During a Treasure Hunt, participants will reach world-famous points of interest as well as places that are well-known only to locals.

A Team receives a bag containing:

• the Roadbook (the booklet that features all the locations and challenges);
• optional sheets for additional challenges (such as a "menu" that features tasting challenges);
• a foldable map of the city;
• a printed guide of the city useful for quick reference;
• a digital camera;
• a badge for each Team member;

Inside the bag, participants can also find basic tools such as a pencil, pencil sharpener and eraser.
At the end of the event, participants must return the Roadbook, the camera and any items collected during the Hunt.

Challenges can be:

• to spot a detail in a given location (for example, counting the windows of a building);
• to interact with local people (for example, asking the meaning of a popular local song);
• to take a creative picture (for example, acting like a group of gladiators near the Colosseum);
• to collect an item (for example, collecting business cards of jewellery shops located on a famous street).

We can also add more challenges such as:

• to taste a local food (can be a specialty from a specific shop or a local delicacy you can find everywhere);
• to find and purchase a local item (for example a magnet representing the Pope in Rome).

For these last challenges, some Clients choose to provide a small amount of cash to each Team (not mandatory).

Teams can earn points by taking a creative group picture. Pictures taken during the Hunt will be available for download on the Internet (at a private address) over the following few days, and are nice souvenirs from the event.
Group pictures are also a way to be sure that a Team won’t split up.

Our Staff needs about 5 minutes to check each Team's score: with, 2 Teams about 10 minutes are needed. Planning in advance helps, so that participants have something to do while waiting for the classification.
For example, we suggest setting the finish line at a restaurant or bar so that participants can have their lunch/dinner or a coffee break/cocktail while waiting.

While playing, participants can check the Roadbook/iPad for the amount of points they’ll get for accomplishing a challenge or answering a question.

The app we have chosen was developed in Italy by a partner under our supervision. Our special version of the app features customised and unique content.

Content is our specialisation: we are focusing on developing the best content available in Italy in the best app available on the market.

Just after the briefing (we need participants’ full attention at this time), our Staff provides each Team with a kit.
The Treasure Hunt Kit contains:

• full-colour badges with lanyard, each showing the Team name. There will be a badge for each participant;
• a Treasure Hunt Roadbook (a 30/50 page booklet featuring our original challenges - must be returned);
• a high-quality foldable map of the city;
• a printed guide of the city (which will be used by participants during hunt for quick reference);
• a digital photo camera (must be returned);
• writing tools (pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser).

Badges are very important for allowing participants to locate their team mates. Each badge features the name of the Team and the Company logo on the front side along with each Team’s distinctive colour (if necessary – it depends on the total number of Teams).
We provide high-quality, large badges with a lanyard; dimensions are: length 11 cm./4.33 in. by height 17 cm./6.69 in.

The Treasure Hunt is an exploration game: participants will have the chance to get to know the city and its local folklore. They will also enjoy visiting hidden places and world-famous monuments.
While scouting the city to answer the questions, participants will use the printed, full-colour, picture-rich guide included in the Treasure Hunt kit to quickly obtain information about a location.

Special challenges are included in the Treasure Hunt so that participants can get additional points tasting local food.
Tasting challenges are in two different categories: some ask participants to locate and reach a specific shop (for example a famous shop where a local food is cooked with traditional methods), while other challenges just ask participants to taste a local food anywhere they can find it.
Tasting challenges can also be used to give participants a special break while eating.

We provide one staff member for each Team. Staff members can speak English or the language you requested (native-speaking Staff is also available on request) and will provide the following services:

• welcome participants as soon as they arrive;
• distribute Team kits;
• explain the activity and offer additional help to Teams during the planning phase (i.e. when the Team is studying the map in order to set up its unique route according to personal preferences and Team strategy);
• welcome Teams at the end of the Hunt;
• help participants where necessary, for example answering the phone in case of emergencies;
• declare the winner and reward the winning Team.

We have also got an internal Quality Supervisor responsible for coordinating Staff and staying in touch with the Client.
Note that Staff will follow the Teams but we will not lead them, as the Treasure Hunt format requires participants to explore the city on their own. This is a task which will be easy to accomplish, even without any prior knowledge of Italy.

The Treasure Hunt can be enjoyed even if it’s raining or there’s bad weather.
Please monitor the weather forecasts and advise participants to dress accordingly.

If there are any problems, our Staff will be ready to help or provide advice.
Our Staff will answer in English or the language you requested.

Please note that participants should always be aware of the official emergency number for actual emergencies which are not related to the Treasure Hunt. The official emergency number in Europe is 112.

At the very beginning of the event, our Staff will explain the activity during a briefing that will take about 10 minutes. The briefing will be arranged in English or in a different language (depending on your order).
Please also note that our Staff will always be following each Team.
A suitable place to set up the briefing is required (depending on the size of the group).

About half an hour before the end of the event, our Staff will begin waiting for the Teams at the finish line.
Teams are expected to gather at the finish line from about 5/10 minutes before the set finish time up to 20/30 minutes after, based on their pace and whether they encountered any difficulties during the Hunt.
The Staff will welcome participants and take their materials to be returned (in particular the Roadbook and the digital camera). Staff we will begin to assign points as soon as possible: this procedure is expected to take about 5 minutes per Team. We suggest giving participants the option to enjoy a cocktail or start having lunch/dinner while we work on the classification.

Calculating the awards is quite simple: we elaborate the Teams’ classification based on their total score. The classification can be given to the Client (in case an official ceremony is planned) or used to award the winner.
Awards are not included in our standard offer; the Client can choose them according to the level and expectations of the participants. We recommend giving local food as awards, such as packages of dried pasta with seasonings, wine or similar (make sure participants will be able to carry such items with them in their travels).
A suitable place is required for the award ceremony (depending on the size of the group).

We offer two kinds of challenges which may require the use of cash: tasting challenges and fetching challenges. In brief, the first requires participants to buy and taste local foods, while the other asks participants to find and buy typical items (such as a popular souvenir or a local product). In both cases, a very small amount of money is necessary.
Some Clients include cash inside the kits for this type of expense if they prefer to include these challenges, but it is not mandatory. Please also note that avoiding tasting and fetching challenges will not affect Team performance if they do not wish to participate in them.
Please also note that you will not be able to spend foreign currency in shops, and exchanging foreign currency in Italy is not recommended.

A coffee break can be integrated in the Treasure Hunt if preferred. Planning is necessary to ensure the venues can handle the Teams without affecting the Hunt’s pace.
We suggest planning for a cocktail/coffee break at the end of the event while our Staff checks each Team's points: this phase can be boring - especially for the most punctual Teams - as we need about 5 minutes for each Team. We recommend letting participants enjoy a cocktail or coffee at the end of the event if there is no time to allow them to sit at a table and have lunch/dinner.

The Treasure Hunt takes about half a day, so you can set the starting point or the finish line at a restaurant. This last option may be handy because participants can have a seat while our staff is checking points.

We can help you choose the restaurant if you like; another option is to choose to provide lunch boxes to participants. Lunch boxes are available with different contents/prices.

During a Treasure Hunt, we can optionally arrange for the following types of transportation:

1. from the hotel to the briefing point: you may need a meeting room to provide a briefing to larger groups. Arrangements depend on the hotel’s location;
2. from the briefing to the area of the Treasure Hunt (if applicable). You may also evaluate the use of public transport for this segment as part of the Hunt;
3. from the finish line to the restaurant for dinner/lunch (if applicable).

Transport fees are not included in our quote, but we can offer this service on request through third parties.
